This book is a stress buster for me. The personal experience of the author penned down in a humors way, every small expression and gesture mentioned made me feel if it was happening right there. I would end up laughing at the end of some stories. Thank you for sharing these experiences. Awaiting for your next book sir.
Good that you released the book, and I want to see you as famous writer. So much effort has been out to give time for your dream project. Very interesting. Unique cover & pictures inside, good art work, simple and attractive. The stories are a grtread. Thanks
Wow! The book was very addictive….like I mentioned earlier…..it’s relatable to my childhood life too…..I completed 10 chapters at one go…I should complete the book soon Sir…?
Ten years ago I read Venu Rao’s first book, Venus Bytes, and on this trip to India I read Rao’s second book Venus Swirls.
Venu Rao’s new book Venus Swirls is full of heartwarming short stories that many people in the hotel industry, especially MadCats, will relate to. I was especially happy to read it because Venu and I share a common heritage of being from families in the Andhra/Telangana region and studied together at IHM Chennai.
The book is full of surprises. I had no idea that Venu also worked at Hotel Viceroy, now the Hyderabad Marriott. The story about his time there is hilarious. Tigers, foxes, forts, watery gravies – you will find a variety of entertaining tales and experiences in this book.
A common theme among MadCats is that for all of us, the starting point is the same but where we journeyed and flourished is different for each of us. Venu’s short stories give you a view into Venu’s journey, family, and sometimes the silly things that we overlook in our hurry to make our life too fast.
Our lives are full of cherishable memories with parents, colleagues, and even complete strangers. While our memory is good we remember these moments. Venu’s book also gave me a reminder that our memory is not endless. There will come a day when you may have to write them down and enjoy the memories as Venu has done in this book Venus Swirls.
One of the things I enjoyed most about the book is Venu’s sense of humor. He has a way of finding humor in even the most difficult situations, and his stories are full of laugh-out-loud moments.
But Venu’s ‘Swirls’ is more than just a funny book. It’s also a book about family, friendship, and the importance of cherishing the memories we make in life. His stories will stay with you long after you finish reading them, and they’ll make you appreciate the simple things in life.
Congratulations, Venu. I thoroughly enjoyed the book
